Part Time MBA/PGDM

The Master of Business Administration (MBA) is an internationally-recognised degree designed to develop the skills necessary for careers in management and business. MBA is a degree course offered by the universities (both private and government) and colleges affiliated to these universities. Postgraduate Diploma in Management (PGDM) is a diploma programme offered by B-schools which are recognised by the Central government's nodal body for technical education, All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE). PGDM and MBA are both business-orientated programmes designed with an aim to equip an individual who wants to climb up the hierarchy and foray into the management field.

Eligibility Criteria for Pursuing Part-Time MBA/PGDM Course

Part-time MBA/PGDM has become a preferred management programme for working professionals, especially for those who switch over to entrepreneurship after completion of this programme. Hence, for those who aspire to embark on entrepreneurship with managerial skills, part-time MBA/PGDM can prove to be a good option. Part-time MBA/PGDM can typically be completed in two-three years with on-campus evening or weekend classes.

  • The eligibility criteria for admission to part-time MBA/PGDM course is graduation in any discipline from a recognised Indian or foreign university with a minimum aggregate marks of 50 per cent (at many colleges/institutes, there is no minimum cut off marks for admission), and preferably with a minimum of two-three years of work experience at an executive level in a commercial, or service, or industrial, or government organisation. Candidates are selected based on the rank/score/percentile in national-level entrance exams such as CAT, MAT, XAT, GMAT, CMAT, SNAP, ATMA, NMAT, EMAT among others, and performance in group discussion/personal interview. Several private management colleges/universities/institutes offer direct admission based on rank/marks/percentile scored in the national-level entrance exam(s). However, even such colleges/universities/institutes can conduct personal interview/group discussion for the selection of candidates.
