B.Com. (Bachelor of Commerce)

Bachelor of Commerce (BCom) is a three-year undergraduate course pursued by a high number of students across the country every year. BCom is imparted through regular as well as distance education mode. This is one of the most popular courses of the Commerce branch. BCom offers three other popular courses –Bcom (Pass) or BCom-General, BCom (Honours) and BCom LLB. There are around 8,840 BCom colleges in India, including private (approximately 60%), /government (around 21%), and public/private (around 19%). BCom colleges in India offer courses at UG and PG level.

Bcom is one of the common courses which are offered by almost all the universities and colleges in India. The eligibility criteria for pursuing BCom course is given below:

  • The candidate must have studied Commerce in Class 11 and 12 with Accountancy, Business Studies, Economics, Maths/optional subject and English as main subjects.
  • The candidate must meet the minimum cut-off criteria of the respective college for admission.
  • Every college/ university has a minimum cut-off mark criteria as it is subject to the college/university’s admission criteria for that year.

Bcom Course Eligibility Criteria

Candidates wishing to apply for the Bcom course need to fulfill the following minimum eligibility criteria:

  • The minimum cut-off marks for BCom admission depends on the total percentage of candidates passing in Commerce in the board exams, the highest score in Commerce, the average score in Commerce, minimum cut-off marks of the previous year, etc.
